Terms & Conditions
1. Overview
These Terms and Conditions govern all services provided by Robur CT LLC, owned and operated by Joshua Figueroa, based in Greenwich, Connecticut. By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. Robur CT LLC specializes in antique furniture refinishing, furniture repair and restoration, and custom cabinetry for residential clients in Greenwich, CT and surrounding towns within a 50-mile radius.
2. Services
Robur CT LLC provides the following services: antique furniture refinishing, furniture repair and restoration, custom cabinetry design and build, and free initial consultations. All work is performed by Joshua Figueroa, with occasional assistance on larger projects. The scope of each project will be discussed and agreed upon during the initial consultation.
3. Estimates and Pricing
All estimates are provided free of charge following an in-person assessment of the piece or project. Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date issued. Final pricing may vary if additional damage or work is discovered during the project. Any changes to the agreed scope or price will be communicated and approved by the client before proceeding. Robur CT LLC reserves the right to adjust pricing for materials that fluctuate in cost.
4. Payment Terms
A deposit of 50% of the estimated total is required before work begins. The remaining balance is due upon completion and before delivery or pickup of the finished piece. Payment may be made by cash, check, Venmo, or Zelle. Invoices not paid within 14 days of completion are subject to a late fee of 1.5% per month. Robur CT LLC retains possession of all items until payment is received in full.
5. Project Timeline
Estimated timelines will be provided at the start of each project. Timelines are approximations and may vary depending on the complexity of the work, material availability, and the condition of the piece. Robur CT LLC will communicate any significant delays as soon as they are identified. Delays caused by the client, including failure to approve designs or make timely payments, may extend the project timeline.
6. Client Responsibilities
The client is responsible for transporting furniture to and from the workshop unless delivery arrangements have been agreed upon separately. The client must disclose any known damage, previous repairs, or special considerations about the piece prior to the start of work. Clients should remove all personal items from furniture before service begins.
7. Warranty
Robur CT LLC provides a 90-day warranty on all refinishing and repair work, covering defects in workmanship under normal use. Custom cabinetry carries a one-year warranty on structural integrity and craftsmanship. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, neglect, environmental conditions, or normal wear and tear. Warranty claims must be submitted in writing to roburctllc@gmail.com within the warranty period.
8. Liability
Robur CT LLC exercises the highest care when handling client property. However, due to the nature of antique and aged furniture, there is inherent risk of unforeseen damage during the restoration process. Robur CT LLC is not liable for pre-existing structural weaknesses, hidden damage revealed during work, or natural characteristics of aged wood. In the unlikely event of damage caused by negligence on our part, liability is limited to the agreed project cost.
9. Cancellations and Refunds
Clients may cancel a project prior to the commencement of work and receive a full refund of any deposit paid. Once work has begun, cancellations will be subject to a charge for materials used and labor performed to date. No refunds will be issued for completed work. Robur CT LLC reserves the right to cancel a project at any time and will refund any payments for work not yet performed.
10. Abandoned Property
Furniture left at the workshop for more than 30 days after project completion and notification will be considered abandoned. Robur CT LLC will make reasonable efforts to contact the client before designating property as abandoned. A storage fee of $10 per day may apply after the 30-day grace period. Robur CT LLC reserves the right to dispose of abandoned property after 90 days.
11. Intellectual Property
Robur CT LLC reserves the right to photograph completed work for use in marketing, social media, and portfolio purposes unless the client requests otherwise in writing prior to the start of the project.
12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Fairfield County, Connecticut.
13. Changes to Terms
Robur CT LLC reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be made available on our website and will apply to all new projects from the date of publication.
